Rokok elektrik juga akan menyebabkan terjadinya keracunan akut nikotin dan juga adanya kasus kematian anak. Tak hanya rokoknya yang berbahaya, uap yang terhirup dapat menimbulkan serangan asma, sesak napas, dan batuk. Rokok ini juga berbahaya untuk penderita pneumonia, gagal jantung, disorientasi, kejang, hipotensi, sampai luka bakar akibat meledaknya rokok elektrik dalam mulut.

2. Penggunaan rokok elektrik dalam jangka panjang, bisa meningkatkan kadar plasma nikotin secara signifikan setelah lima menit penggunaannya.

3. Tak hanya itu, rokok ini juga meningkatkan kadar plasma karbon monoksida dan frekuensi nadi secara signifikan yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan.

4. Memiliki efek akut pada paru seperti pada rokok tembakau, yaitu kadar nitrit oksida udara ekshalasi menurun secara signifikan dan tahanan jalan napas meningkat signifikan.

Dari data-data yang tersedia saat ini menunjukkan bahwa rokok elektronik belum terbukti sebagai alternatif yang aman untuk terapi pengganti nikotin dan masih diperlukan studi lebih lanjut untuk mengevaluasi dampak kesehatan dari rokok elektronik pada penggunaan jangka panjang.
